Japanese Legend states that anyone who folds a group of one thousand paper origami cranes held together by strings will be granted a wish such as long life or recovery from illness or injury.
Over the past year my cousin Jacqueline completed 1000 origami cranes for peace. As she said, "Each crane became a prayer, a petition, a hope, a promise."
Now, for the month of June, Jacqueline's Cranes are featured in the window of Coffee To The People in the Haight.
